As Head of Norfolk Services 4 Schools you will have an exciting, creative and challenging opportunity to develop Norfolk County Council’s (NCC) traded services to schools and other education providers with the clear remit to contribute to Excellence in Education, one of NCC’s high level priorities and our strategy of ensuring a Good Education for Every Norfolk Learner. Following an extensive options appraisal and business planning process over the past year we wish to appoint a Head of Services 4 Schools who will be responsible for bringing together into a single effective and sustainable trading unit with an annual turnover of £11 million services that will:

  • Enable and ensure strong Governance and Leadership
  • Provide high quality professional development opportunities to enhance Teaching and Learning
  • Model best practice through Direct Teaching Services including Music, Outdoor Education, Environmental Learning and support to Vulnerable Learners.
  • Provide advice, support and transactional services to enable schools to efficiently and legally manage finance and people (HR)

Norfolk Services 4 Schools will also broker a range of other council services that provide support on a traded basis to Norfolk schools ensuring strong quality assurance and customer relationship management systems.

The creation of Services 4 Schools comes at a critical time for the Norfolk education system. Norfolk’s schools are improving and we have a shared commitment to work with Headteachers, Governors, Teaching School Alliances, Academy Groups and our Dioceses to further our ambition for excellence in education.
