The Prince of Wales Island International School (POWIIS)- Tanjung Bungah Campus, opened in September 2019, on Penang Island, Malaysia offers teachers an exciting opportunity to shape and develop an outstanding school. We offer a high-quality, broad education for children aged 3 to 13 years old and our context relevant version of the English National Curriculum aims to meet the needs of our local and international communities.

Applications are invited from excellent PE teachers and leaders who are committed to implementing an exciting PE curriculum and extra-curricular activities programme across the School. They should be highly resourceful, forward-thinking professionals and accomplished sportspeople, who are passionate about learning and this aspect of school life. The successful candidate will be able to utilise a well-equipped multi-purpose indoor space, Astroturf pitch, dance studio and 25m swimming pool.

At least three years’ teaching experience is required in the U.K. or overseas regardless of nationality, as is a proven track record in organising extra-curricular activities, coaching and managing school teams and hosting inter-school sports events. All applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in education, or a first bachelor’s degree plus a post-graduate qualification in education (i.e. PGCE).

Teachers receive an overseas benefits package, including salary, flight allowance, accommodation allowance, inbound and outbound freight allowance, health coverage and tuition fees for up to two children at the school.
