Head of Primary Department (English Stream)

The German Swiss International School (GSIS) is one of Hong Kong's leading international schools, with 200 faculty and staff providing dual language education to a multinational student body of more than 1300 students. We are inviting applications from experienced and qualified candidates for the following position.

HEAD OF PRIMARY DEPARTMENT (ENGLISH STREAM)

The English Primary Department (EPD) follows a curriculum to suit our international student body. The Head of Department is responsible for maintaining our high academic standards and commitment to student success and the overall management and professional leadership of faculty staff and administrative personnel of the EPD (around 30 staff).

Applicants should have a history of effective leadership within the international education sector. We are seeking an excellent communicator with superb interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships of trust and confidence. The candidate should be familiar with the principles, processes and implementation of school self-review and curriculum development. The curriculum is drawn from best practices from the UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand and reflects the internationalism of the teaching staff and the school at large.

The successful candidate will have taught a range of age groups from Y01 to Y06 and will have recent teaching experience.

Applicants should be native speakers of English. A knowledge of German would be an advantage.

This position will be available from August 2015 or later (as mutually agreed).
