Job overview

Tes is supporting the appointment of a Head of Religious Studies to join a High School based in Wandsworth.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, enthusiastic and well-qualified individual to lead their outstanding and phenomenally successful Religious Studies department.

Their pupils appreciate the passion and expertise of the Religious Studies department, their commitment to the pursuit of consistently excellent results, and their exceptional care for the students, and it is on this that their department’s highly respected reputation rests. They are looking for someone with the vision, commitment and energy to build upon the outstanding success of the department.

As Head of Religious Studies, you will be responsible for the leadership and management of all members of the department, and will ensure high performance standards are achieved and maintained.

Leading by example, you will promote excellence in teaching and learning to ensure all pupils develop their potential through the planning and delivery of high quality, innovative and engaging lessons.

You will also be responsible for the department’s extra-curricular activities and will actively promote interest in Religious Studies outside the immediate physical and timetabled confines of the department.

If you have excellent leadership skills, in addition to experience teaching Key Stage three, GCSE and A level, they would be delighted to hear from you.
