The school was judged to be 'Good' by Ofsted in February 2015.

Ofsted's report also identified the resource unit as an area for improvement. In order to achieve this, there will be a restructure of the staffing and grouping of children within the resource unit. This post is the first stage of this process and the successful candidate will be in a position to manage the changes. You will work closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team to ensure that there are significant improvements within the resource base.

This is an exciting opportunity to bring about rapid change.

The successful applicant will:

  • Have significant experience of teaching and managing within special educational settings.
  • Be able to think strategically and creatively and support the Governing Body, Headteacher and Deputy Headteachers to take forward initiatives in the next stage of the school development.
  • Be a highly-motivated individual with a commitment to providing high quality learning opportunities for all of our children.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills and use these to inspire and support colleagues in order to build on our school's many strengths.
  • Lead a team by example, showing a clear understanding of what constitutes outstanding teaching and learning acrossthe curriculum, particularly for children with a range of SEN, as well as the ability to communicate this to others.
  • Be an outstanding, inspirational teacher with an excellent record of classroom practice and high expectations of achievement and behaviour.

In return we offer the applicant the opportunity to:

  • Lead, manage and bring about rapid change.
  • Play a significant part in the continuing development of our school.
  • Lead and manage innovative and creative learning experiences for all.
  • Enhance the education of our happy, hardworking and well behaved pupils.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. An Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau check will be sought for the successful candidate.
