Job overview

The school is looking to appoint a top class candidate to oversee the work of our large Science faculty that we are restructuring into separate subject areas with Heads of Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

The Science faculty is in need of a period of stability and Science results, though rising this year, are below those in other core subjects.

The successful candidate will need to have experience of departmental or faculty management and a proven track record of delivering excellent public exam results over a period of time.

The school’s expectation is that students will make a minimum of four levels of progress and we are looking to appoint the right person to deliver this.

The successful candidate will also be expected to lead and develop STEM cross-curricular initiatives within the faculty and to liaise with the school’s STEM Coordinator.
Opportunities to join the school’s extended senior leadership programme may be available for suitable candidates.

The large Science Faculty has a suite of ten modern, large and well equipped purpose built laboratories housing a team of 13 Science teachers and two technicians.

Interested candidates are invited to visit the school before making an application.
