Accrington Academy is a popular and oversubscribed 11-18 Academy that has been graded 'good' by OFSTED.

The successful colleague must have vision, enthusiasm and drive to build on the strong foundations that already exist in the department. The department offers a full range of Science courses up to 18, including further Science and A-Level. This is the perfect opportunity for a colleague to take the next steps in their career. As part of the United Learning chain of Academies the successful colleague will also access strong and tailored leadership development.

Being part of one of the leading school groups in the country, we offer unrivalled career development opportunities and support to ensure you achieve your ambitions. If you'd prefer flexible working, we'll try to accommodate it; if you need to relocate for this role, we can provide financial assistance; and if you're currently based overseas, we'll help with your transition back to the UK. Furthermore, you could be eligible for health care cover and full or part funded CPD during your first year.

We are a popular, vibrant and successful 11-18, non-selective school. Our motto as part of the UL family of academies is “The Best in Everyone”.

In March 2015 OFSTED identified that we were a ‘good’ school. The cornerstone of our success is that students enjoy school.  “Students’ attitudes to learning are positive. Students want to do well at the academy”.  – OFSTED MARCH 2015

We have developed a culture of “hard work” and “dedication” from our students and staff alike, where high expectations and a desire for success are standard and everyone is proud to belong to Accrington Academy.

We believe that everyone at the academy can be outstanding and we seek to draw out the full potential in everyone. We do this by instilling the following values in all our students:

  • Ambition
  • Determination to succeed
  • Respect for others, ourselves and the environment we live and work in
  • Enthusiasm
  • Confidence
  • Creativity
