Job overview
We are seeking to appoint a creative and dynamic Head of Science who has the potential to take on an aspect of wider school leadership. You must be highly motivated and demonstrate high professional standards. Also, you have the ability to manage and motivate a team of staff and facilitate a learning experience that provides students with the opportunity to achieve the highest standards.
You will lead the development of an innovative science curriculum which ensures a range of teaching methods that complement the school’s strategic objectives and builds upon the success already achieved. You’ll have excellent communication skills and senior leadership potential and they will use these skills to secure commitment to a clear aim and direction for the subject area. You must be able to teach science to KS3 and KS4 and be able to analyse a range of data to ensure effective interventions are put in place to secure expected or better than expected good progress for all students. A willingness to make an active contribution to our extensive extra-curricular activities programme is essential.
Ash Manor School is a successful 11-16 mixed comprehensive which serves West Surrey. It was judged as ‘Good’ by Ofsted in its most recent inspection and is now on the journey to becoming outstanding.
