The Role

The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for the College’s Sixth Form Provision including curriculum planning delivery, quality control, marketing and co-ordination of the College’s services supporting the Sixth Form. You will lead and manage the Department, inspiring staff to continuously raise standards in, for example, KS4 and A level provision. Taking the lead in financial management of Department and using high level and complex data to analyse and plan your service delivery, you will ensure that the Department is delivering continuous improvements to retention, attendance, achievement and success.

The Person

With Significant experience in the successful teaching of 16-18 year olds on academic and vocational courses and providing positive educational outcomes for these students, you will be a visible and inspirational leader with a track record of delivering success in a similar Department or Faculty. You may be managing one curriculum area, or be in a similar role in a smaller college, and will be sure your skills and experience can help us achieve our long term improvements and goals. In addition to this you will have:

  • The ability to create an effective and innovative learning environment.
  • Demonstrable experience of successfully developing effective partnerships.
  • Experience of developing and implementing a strategic plan.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Well-developed organisational and administrative skills.
  • The ability to produce, analyse and present accurate data and statistics.
  • An understanding of the external regulatory and inspection framework.
  • An understanding of, and commitment to, the safeguarding of all learners.
