The Post

Head of the Primary Department

Due to the continued popularity and further expansion of the school, we are looking to appoint an experienced Head of Primary of the school that will enter its third year of operation in September 2015. The position is tenable from this date. The post holder will develop provision in the Primary phase and lead on all day-to-day operational decisions in respect of its organisation. There are currently 220 pupils and these numbers are expected to rise still further, particularly when boarding facilities are added to the overall school provision in September 2016.

To be considered for the post, you should already have senior leadership experience within a vibrant and diverse school and are ready to take on the next challenging stage of your career. The successful candidate will have the charisma, personality and educational philosophy to drive standards across the phase and to make a significant contribution to the school going forward. In addition, exceptional communication and leadership skills to motivate colleagues and pupils alike will be expected. A willingness to play a full and active part in the extra-curricular life of the school is also essential.

The post carries an excellent remuneration package to the successful candidate, including competitive salary, secure, high quality furnished accommodation, visa costs, comprehensive medical insurance and annual flight allowance.

About GEMS Cambridge International School - Kampala

 GEMS Cambridge International School is a private school in Kampala, Uganda. Kampala is Uganda’s capital and largest city, historically built upon seven hills. The school campus is located in the comfortable surrounds of Butabika, next to the Royal Palms Estate.The school runs operate a fleet of secure school buses in Kampala and Entebbe. This is a British curriculum school, teaching the National Curriculum to early years pupils, through Key Stage 1, 2, 3 & 4, up to iGCSE level, AS Level, A Level and BTEC level.
