Job overview

Granby is the place to be! We have the BBC4 Food Retailer of the Year, a Turner Prize nomination…. and Kingsley Community Primary School.

We seek an inspirational and experienced Head teacher and Head of Centre to replace Elaine Rees, who will be leaving us after eleven years, to lead the Liverpool Learning Partnership.

This is a unique and growing school, which educates children of all faiths and none, but where 97% of children are from Muslim families. We have over 440 children aged 2-11 and they come from 35 countries. Between us we speak over 30 languages. We are Liverpool’s most ethnically diverse primary school.

The head teacher is also Head of Centre of the outstanding Granby Children’s Centre which is on site and makes a huge and valued contribution to the lives of our families. The school was rated Good with outstanding behaviour and safety in its last Ofsted inspection in April 2013.

The school was newly built in 1999 but has been extensively remodelled since to allow for growth. It sits on its own playing fields with a sports barn built in 2013.

We can offer you:

  •  Enthusiastic, well motivated children
  • An experienced, large and talented staff team
  •  Knowledgeable and competent governor
  • A growing school, expanding to 2 form entry in September 2015
  • A really well resourced school with a great reputation in the city

We need:

  • An experienced head teacher
  • An exemplary classroom practitioner
  • A caring, approachable and empathic leader who puts children first
  • A person who works well in collaboration with others
  • An individual with a genuine love of children and a commitment to securing the best outcomes for families

Please see the application pack for further details. Visits to the school are welcomed on either 25th June at 3.30pm or 29th June at 11am. Please contact Selena Hoyland on 0151 7096727, or email kingsley-ao@kingsley.liverpool.sch.uk to make an appointment.

Applications must be completed on the application form and submitted electronically to Selena Hoyland on kingsley-ao@kingsley.liverpool.sch.uk

Closing date: 12 noon on Friday 3rd July.
Shortlisting: Monday 6th July
Interviews: Thursday 9th July (1st round); Monday 13th July (2nd and final round)
