The Governors are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, committed and inspiring Head Teacher to build on the vision we have for our nursery school and children's centre, and to lead us onto the next phase of our development.

Our ethos is that we believe every child, regardless of gender, background or ability can achieve their full potential in a safe, caring, happy and secure environment.

As a result of the strong leadership of our longstanding, much loved, head teacher and her senior leadership team, Bordesley Green East Nursery is a GOOD school "where children flourish and blossom, and are given a good start to their education" OFSTED JAN 15.

Following her decision to retire in Aug 2015 the governors are looking to appoint a visionary and highly motivated successor who is ambitious for the school, children's centre, the children, staff and wider community.

This appointment offers an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to add further value to our existing achievements and to drive the school forward on its journey towards OUTSTANDING.

Bordesley Green East Nursery school and Children's Centre is a friendly, highly valued resource for our diverse community serving children and families within the east of the city.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Outstanding leadership and management skills to further develop and inspire a team of skilled, dedicated and motivated staff, ensuring high quality of teaching and learning takes place.
  • Is passionate about raising standards and improving outcomes for children and has the enthusiasm and vision to continue to raise achievement for all.
  • A proven track record as a senior leader in a school, that has a clear sighted vision of the future and a strategic mind to achieve it
  • Extensive experience of teaching within Early Years, who is an outstanding practitioner and who has a proven track record of raising attainment.
  • Provide evidence of meeting teachers standards at a consistently good or better level over time.
  • A strong belief and a commitment to a nurturing ethos to provide high quality education for all.
  • Have knowledge of working within a multi-agency environment and recognise the importance of both family and community links to support children's development.
  • Have a commitment to manage change and be able to adapt quickly to constantly changing legislation and guidance.
  • Be creative, innovative and can motivate and inspire children and staff and who leads by example.
  • Be committed to inclusive practice and equality of opportunity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
