It’s going to take an inspirational teacher and leader to further develop our Outstanding Learning Centre. Independent, co-educational and truly inclusive, the learning centre serves the needs of just 14 students – enabling you to make a lasting difference, one-to-one. It is a challenging and rewarding teaching and management role for someone with patience, resilience and a passion for working with pupils within the SEN sector.

The Grange Learning Centre is an independent day school catering for up to 14 pupils with BESD and complex needs. The Learning Centre benefits from excellent staffing ratios and small class sizes ensuring that every pupil in our integrated provision receives a highly personalised curriculum and is treated as an individual and we have a ‘no limits’ approach to learning. We are part of the Witherslack Group, a highly successful and expanding national SEN Group. The Grange consists of purpose built facilities set in a beautiful semi-rural location. All of the pupils attending the Learning centre live on site in our 2 purpose built 52 week children’s homes. The homes are managed by Registered Home Managers.

As our new Head Teacher you’ll be dedicated to working with young people with SEN and have experience as a teacher and senior leader in the sector. A strong leader with a hands-on approach you’ll understand how crucial effective teamwork is within this specialised Learning Centre. Your exceptional interpersonal skills will be matched by a commercial astuteness which will help us to continue to develop and grow.

As part of the Witherslack Group, The Grange Learning Centre benefits from being part of a growing and highly successful organisation. The Witherslack Group is a leading provider of specialist education and care for children and young people with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties, autistic spectrum conditions, communication difficulties and complex learning needs. We operate a range of schools, children’s homes and integrated therapeutic provisions throughout the country.

The Group provides support and guidance to all our Head Teachers; in addition to both support and challenge from our Deputy Director of Schools, the successful Head will have access to a range of specialists including School Improvement Partners, Assessment and Quality Evaluation experts and the Group Commercial team, as well as formal and informal interaction with other Head Teachers and senior leaders in the Group.
