The governing body is looking to appoint an inspiring, enthusiastic and passionate Headteacher to replace our highly respected Headteacher. Our school comprises some 215 pupils aged 3 to 11 years within a warm, inclusive environment where every child and adult matters, recently described by inspectors thus, ‘There is an overall atmosphere of community, harmony and warmth’. We pride ourselves on strong leadership and management and seek a Headteacher who can continue our journey by inspiring all our stakeholders.

We are looking for someone who:

  • is a visionary leader, who is ambitious to improve pupils’ outcomes and committed to developing excellent quality of teaching and outstanding standards.
  • has a clear vision and is able to inspire, lead, motivate and challenge staff, pupils and parents
  • has excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
  • has the ability to work in partnership with other schools, professional partners and community members
  • is innovative and creative, seeking novel solutions to achieve outstanding outcomes

Thorpe Lea Primary School is a co-educational, non-denominational, state-run primary school for children aged 2-11. It is situated in Egham in Surrey and it has 211 pupils currently enrolled at the school. Thorpe Lea Primary School has one class per year group with spacious, well equipped classrooms. The school is located on a large site with a large outdoor areas to foster pupils’ learning through creative play, curiosity and discovery. There is also a large computer suite and all the classes are equipped with Interactive White Boards, broadband and a minimum of two computers each. The school was rated ‘good’ in its latest Ofsted report.

They also achieve well in other subjects including history, geography and religious education. Teaching is good. All groups of pupils learn well and are now making faster progress from their starting points. Teachers make sure that pupils know precisely how to improve their work due to detailed feedback.”
