The Governors, staff and children of our outstanding school are looking to appoint an energetic, inspirational and motivated leader who wants to make a difference and to be part of something special. This situation has arisen due to the retirement of our current Head Teacher.

The Birches is a Specialist Support Primary School which caters for 135 pupils aged 2-11 with a range of learning needs including severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties and autistic spectrum condition. Having recently achieved Autism Accreditation status, we are continuing to develop our autism provision. We also provide advice and support to colleagues in mainstream primary schools as part of our outreach service.

This is a challenging and immensely rewarding role and an exciting opportunity for an experienced Head Teacher or for someone looking for their first headship.

  • Has extensive knowledge of SEND
