The governors of Tavistock and Summerhill School are seeking to appoint a visionary, dynamic and ambitious head teacher to lead our school into the next phase of its development

The new Head will have outstanding leadership qualities and a clear strategic vision, coupled with the ability and aspiration to build upon the recent strong successes of the school. At Tavistock & Summerhill, we put learning at the heart of everything we do and the new Head will be working with delightful children a committed, enthusiastic and talented teaching staff and engaged and supportive Governors

The school has a history of great success in scholarships to senior schools such as Brighton College, Lancing, Ardingly, Hurstpierpoint College and Worth. In recent years the school has been reinvigorated and rebranded. It now boasts“The Walled Garden Nursery” which currently has 75 children on register, with an ever growing waiting list. The main school is currently one form entry throughout, with ambition to increase this across all year groups, to meet the local, mounting demand for quality prep school places.
