John Burns Primary School is a very high achieving school with single form entry; we are a community school of 220 children on a modern bright and well-maintained site with a brand new entrance and school office. We are also about to open a new library and teaching space.

Staff and Governors have very strong aspirations for our children who come from diverse backgrounds and cultures. We want and expect our children to achieve the highest standards and apply our school vision of “giving our best, achieving our highest”.

Our committed Governing Body both supports and challenges its Headteacher in providing a safe and nurturing environment for all our children and staff.

OFSTED has rated us as a good school with outstanding features but we are ambitious to do even better.

Our current much-loved Headteacher is leaving for family reasons but leaves the school in a positive place where her successor can build and add to the strengths of our past success and to take the school forward by continuing to raise standards and the overall school performance even further.
