Due to the retirement of our existing Headteacher in December 2015, the Governors of Gayton Junior School are looking to appoint an inspirational and driven individual to lead us on our journey to outstanding.

Gayton is a larger than average-sized junior school in a pleasant residential setting. It boasts excellent facilities including an ICT and Media suite, extensive recreational space, and an adjacent swimming pool. The school is rated by Ofsted as a ‘Good’ school that has demonstrated excellent progress due to strong leadership, and high quality teaching from its enthusiastic and committed teaching team.

Our new Headteacher will have:

  • A minimum of two years experience as a successful Head or Deputy with a proven track record of raising standards and sustaining school improvement
  • The ability to lead and inspire staff to progress the school from Good to Outstanding
  • A clear vision of what ‘outstanding’ looks like in the context of Gayton Junior
  • The confidence and interpersonal skills required to build strong and lasting relationships with children, staff, parents, governors and the local community.
