Queen Elizabeth's School is looking for a Headteacher to join our fantastic team. Could this be you?

Competitive salary offered.

This job is Full Time and is offered on a Permanent basis.

Start date 01-Sep-2024.

We are now looking for an inspirational leader to help Queen Elizabeth’s School to realise our ambitions for its future and to take advantage of the opportunities ahead. The school was graded ‘Requires Improvement’ by Ofsted in October 2023 and is now on a rapid and exciting improvement journey. In it’s SIAMS inspection in 2018 it was rated ‘Outstanding’.

At Queen Elizabeth’s we have the highest expectations and aspirations for every member of our school community, with a broad, challenging and inspiring curriculum, a robust and caring pastoral system, and a commitment to inspiring a love of learning.

This a truly exciting opportunity for an existing or aspiring Headteacher, with exceptional support provided by an experienced and committed Trust Executive team for the successful candidate. Through your leadership and determination, you will develop Queen Elizabeth’s School’s Christian vision for the future and accelerate our progress. The core responsibility of the new Headteacher will be ensuring best-practice teaching and learning and opportunities for our students, their families, and the wider community.

The new Headteacher will lead a dedicated staff team, to support the learning of every child aged from 13 to 18. You’ll lead the next chapter of our journey, ensuring excellent teaching and learning is at the heart of everything we do. Supported by dedicated Initio Learning Trust and school colleagues, the new Headteacher will accelerate progress, ensure best-practice teaching and learning and make the most of the opportunities in our community and beyond. You will play a pivotal role in wider engagement and encouraging a flourishing community, working closely with families, local employers, charities, and all stakeholders to benefit the school and its students. Leading and inspiring the committed staff team with an engaging and collaborative outlook will be essential to take the school into its next chapter. You’ll be sure to be given every opportunity to collaborate with leaders across Initio Learning Trust, embedding shared best practice.

The ideal candidate for this opportunity will have a great track record of leadership in secondary schools. They will need to be an excellent communicator and enjoy empowering others. If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you. In return, we can offer you a rich career within an exciting MAT.

Queen Elizabeth's School is located to the west of Wimborne Minster, a beautiful town in rural Dorset on the South Coast of England, part of the Jurassic Coast, a world heritage site. The award winning beaches of Poole and Bournemouth are close by as is Poole Harbour, the second largest natural harbour in the world.  The stunning landscape of the New Forest is also within easy reach.  There are major road and rail links to London, and Bournemouth International airport serves Western Europe and the Mediterranean areas with seasonal services further afield.

Queen Elizabeth’s School is a 13-18 mixed Church of England comprehensive academy with an excellent local reputation for high quality teaching and learning and an innovative and forward looking approach to education. The school became an academy in 2014 and on the   1st September 2019 joined Wimborne Academy Trust. In February 2023 Wimborne Academy Trust joined forces with Minerva Learning Trust. The new partnership became Initio Learning Trust, comprising 17 schools across Dorset, with a head office based in Wimborne. The trust offers children and young people an excellent education through every stage of schooling from nursery through to sixth form.

In September 2017 the school was judged to be good by Ofsted and in June 2018 it was judged to be outstanding in the SIAMS inspection.

As a Church of England school our vision is linked to a Commitment to hope for all of our students.

At Queen Elizabeth’s School we are very proud of the positive relationships that exist between all members of the QE Family. The spirit of the QE Family is primarily recognised in the learning partnerships that exist between all members of the school community.  All that we do within school is underpinned by our school values of Community, Respect, Kindness and Love.  We believe that when students are happy they will thrive, when they are challenged they will succeed and when they are supported they will achieve.  Above all else, Queen Elizabeth’s School focuses on the individual to ensure that between the ages of 13 and 18 all students mature as learners and individuals.  We all want our students to be successful and independent learners but we also recognise that they need support and guidance to achieve their potential.

At QE School we have a focus on student learning outcomes in the broadest sense and particularly seek to offer learning opportunities that will encourage resilience and adaptability that will enable our students to meet the demands of an ever changing society.

We are a school where every student has access to a broad, challenging and inspiring curriculum that provides them with the very best opportunities to flourish and achieve their aspirations. We aim to develop our students into confident learners who are resilient and resourceful in their approach to education and to life and who develop a love of learning.

As a member of the QE family students are nurtured as individuals through a pastoral system that has student wellbeing its very heart. Central to this is the kindness and respect shown by all within the school.
