About Allenbourn Middle School

Allenbourn is a mixed 9 – 13 middle school whose catchment area covers the attractive market town of Wimborne and the surrounding villages.  Allenbourn moved in to a brand new building with very good facilities in March 2003.  The school is set in pleasant grounds, close to the town centre.

There are around 610 pupils and 36 teaching staff, some of whom are part time.  At the end of Year 8, the children transfer to Queen Elizabeth’s or Corfe Hills upper schools, and between 10 to 15% of the pupils leave at the end of Year 7 to attend local grammar schools.

Allenbourn Middle School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people/vulnerable adults and expect all staff to share this commitment. This position is subject to enhanced disclosure checks under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
