Wimborne St Giles School Appointment of Headteacher

Working together; Sharing together; Growing together

Wimborne St Giles is a Church of England VA First School situated at the heart of a lively rural community in a stunning unspoiled village setting on the edge of Cranborne Chase in Dorset. It is 3 miles from Cranborne, 8 miles from Verwood and 9 miles from Wimborne. The school is firmly rooted in and committed to this local community. Wimborne St Giles is a forward thinking school which makes use of the latest technology and is constantly embedding new and innovative ways of helping our children develop their learning.

Our flourishing school has been on a journey over the past few years, and due to the promotion of our current headteacher now requires a new leader to continue the progress. We were judged a ‘Good’ school by Ofsted in 2013, but we are well on the way to achieving an ‘Outstanding’ rating.

Our school offers:

  • An excellent opportunity for a passionate and enthusiastic individual to continue to drive the success and development of the school as well as developing their own career
  • 60 caring, well-behaved, friendly and enthusiastic children from Reception through to Year 4
  • A highly motivated, dedicated and hardworking team of staff
  • A highly experienced, supportive and forward thinking governing body
  • Excellent facilities including a breakfast club, a wide range of after school clubs and a large playing field where the children enjoy a variety of sports.

In return we are seeking the following from you:

  • Excellent leadership and motivational skills with a track record of success
  • A passion for learning and a track record of professional development
  • The ability to embrace our school motto and strong Christian ethos
  • A focus on the learning and attainment of each individual pupil
  • A friendly approach with our children, staff, parents and governors.

You are warmly invited to visit our school on one of the following dates: Tuesday 21st or Wednesday 22nd April between 9am and 11am or Monday 27th April between 4pm and 6pm. To arrange a visit please contact Mrs June Parker, the school secretary on 01725 517347.

Please visit our school website at: http://www.wimbornestgiles.dorset.sch.uk.

Closing date for applications: Tuesday 5th May 2015.
