Governors are looking to appoint a highly motivated and caring headteacher for our vibrant, community centred and inclusive primary school.

Our headteacher will:

  • Inspire, challenge, motivate and empower others to carry the school forward

Castledown School is a Local Authority maintained school and is located in the historic seaside town of Hastings. It is a thriving, outward looking school which includes a Nursery and offers extended school services. Its new headteacher will build on its current achievements, while at the same time ensuring that all its pupils’ needs are met, promoting and sustaining the highest quality learning environment.

Accordingly, the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate to the school, bycompleting a self-declaration form as part of the pre-employment checks process, that they have not been disqualified under the 2009 Regulations.

If the preferred candidate is found to be disqualified under the 2009 Regulations, the offer of employment will be subject to the application by the preferred candidate to Ofsted for a waiver and the receipt of a waiver from Ofsted.
