Job overview

Hawarden High School is a successful, oversubscribed 11-18 community comprehensive school. Following the appointment of our Headteacher to an advisory post, the Governing Body is seeking an outstanding leader to sustain the excellent achievements and developments within the school.

The appointee, who is likely to be a current headteacher or experienced deputy head, will be a well-qualified and highly committed professional who articulates a clear vision for our school's continued development.

The school is situated in an attractive area close to the border, just 6 miles from Chester and within easy reach of the North Wales coast, Liverpool and Manchester. The last Estyn Report judged the school to be 'good' with 'excellent prospects for continued improvement'. Inspectors commented that "senior managers have high expectations of staff and pupils" and "teachers and managers provide a high level of care".

Application packs are available from the Clerk to the Governing Body, c/o the school, or via the TES/Flintshire County Council/E-Teach websites.

Applications should be returned to the Clerk to the Governing Body by noon on Friday, 20th March 2015.
