Due to the retirement of our long-serving, much loved and respected Headteacher, the Governors wish to appoint an exceptional leader who will rise to the challenge in moving our dynamic school forward and ensure ambitious achievement targets are met in 2015/16 and beyond.

Robert Blair is a happy, friendly, hardworking One Form Entry Primary School with approximately 270 children on roll, located just off the lively community of the Caledonian Road in Islington. The school includes a Children’s Centre and a Language and Communication Resource. The school is recognised as being a beacon of inclusion with a very committed staff team. The size and make up of the school, however, impacts unfavourably on our nationally reported SATs results and we are currently rated as Requiring Improving by OFSTED. We are looking to the new Head to move us through to Good and to Outstanding. We are exploring developing a Strategic Partnership with another successful Islington school.

We want to appoint a Headteacher who will:

• think strategically, help us make big decisions and has the resilience to implement change
• drive continuing improvement throughout the school
• ensure that every child has access to high quality teaching and learning
• retain the cohesive and inclusive ethos of the school
• embrace the opportunities offered by the Strategic Partnership
