Battyeford Primary School enjoys national and international recognition for our quality Visual Arts, Craft and Design provision. Our specialist teacher is a member of the National Expert Advisory Group for Art and Design and as a setting we have received an OFSTED Good Practice visit regarding our work (link below).

We forge effective community links to maximise opportunities to our pupils and their families and have had much success in gaining external funding to provide extensive enrichment in the creative arts. We lead on partnership programmes with other Kirklees school settings in Art, Craft, Design and creative Film-making and have in recent years, showcased our practice in many national events. Our exciting film-making projects have resulted in national awards and international screenings at venues such as the Royal Sydney Opera House, such experiences provide aspirational opportunities that impact positively on our pupils and their respective families lives.
