About Notre Dame Catholic College and Sixth Form

Here at Notre Dame Catholic College, our motto is "Do Small Things With Great Love"

Established in 1869 and founded by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur. Until 2012, the school was an all-girls school and became fully co-educational in 2016.

Now a mixed, non-selective, Catholic secondary school with sixth form, serving students from the age of 11-18. The secondary school, situated in Liverpool and has approximately 890 students on record.

Built in 2013, our school boasts amazing state of the art facilities, and visitors are always impressed when they see the modern and bright layout of our open plan building.  Amongst other things we have:

  • First class Dance and Drama Studio
  • State of the Art Science Labs
  • Engaging Art facilities
  • An on-site Catholic Chapel
  • Use of Everton Park Sports Centre

Being just 2 miles from the City Centre, we also benefit from our amazing location.  With great transport links we are easily accessed from all surrounding area including Cheshire, Wirral, North Wales, Lancashire and Halton.

The former capital of culture, Liverpool is a growing and vibrant city with strong musical and footballing heritage.  There are many places to visit, and things to do in the city and we are also just 5 miles from the coast and the stunning beaches of Crosby and Formby.

There are some challenging socio-economic factors in parts of Liverpool, which are reflected in the school's intake. For example, the proportion of students eligible for free school meals is much higher than average.  There are more students with special educational needs than the national average.  The school is nonetheless a true comprehensive, with a wide ability range reflecting a social mix, and it has many very bright, enthusiastic and passionate youngsters. We are also at the centre of our community. This is a school where you can make a real difference.

In 2019, the secondary school was identified as requires improvement by Ofsted.  However our summer results have demonstrated significant progress, providing a solid platform for maintaining our momentum towards improving outcomes for our pupils.

Values and vision

The secondary school wants to challenge students to be the best version of themselves in everything they do – academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually. It wants students to develop the qualities of optimism, confidence and imagination, along with the ability to think for themselves. Citizenship is at the heart of the school, and it guides students to contribute positively to the local, national and international community. Notre Dame Catholic College’s vision is to be a welcoming environment where everyone is treated equally and it nurtures students to become reflective and creative thinkers.
