The Governing Body is seeking an inspirational and dynamic Headteacher for September 2015, following the retirement of the current Head after many years of dedicated leadership. A visionary leader, the next Head will build confidently on West Derby’s considerable strengths to develop the school further.

The School is an 11-18 converter academy for boys situated in Liverpool. It is oversubscribed and has an ethos of achievement and the belief that every student will achieve no matter their background.

Founded in 1957, West Derby School is a non-denominational boys secondary with co-educational sixth form in Liverpool. As of the most recent inspection there were 1031 students on the school roll, of which 113 were in the sixth form. The school has held academy status since 2012. Extra-curricular activities include Football, Table Tennis, Duke of Edinburgh (Kinball), Code Academy, STEM Club, French Club, Debate Mate, Music Club, Vocal Group, and Film Club. The school is located on Bankfield Road.
