The Governors are looking for an inspirational Headteacher who possesses strong leadership qualities, is dynamic and efficient and will be able to build on the strengths of our school and carry it forward to new challenges.

Broad Haven school is a successful primary school situated in the beautiful coastal village of Broad Haven in the heart of the Pembrokeshire National Park, close to the county town of Haverfordwest. It is a happy and thriving community with enthusiastic pupils and a dedicated ad established team of staff.

The school is currently undergoing a £2.2 million extension and refurbishments that will change the age range of the school from 4-11 to 3-11 in readiness for September 2015. The IT infrastructure of the school and the outdoor areas are being enhanced considerably.

We aim to provide a happy, safe, caring, inclusive learning environment in which our pupils will enjoy being part of and, as a result, will learn and thrive.

The Governors will be looking to appoint a person with leadership skills to motivate at every level. They will have experience in delivering high quality teaching and learning and will be able to use strategies to unlock the potential of every pupil.

The Governors wish to appoint a visionary and highly motivated leader to lead this community school.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following.

  • Outstanding leadership and management skills, with substantial experience in a primary school.
  • A sense of vision with the energy and commitment to further develop the school and continue to raise standards of achievement for all pupils.
  • An exemplary understanding of strategic educational developments in school effectiveness, inclusion and wellbeing and their influence on outcomes for pupils.
  • The ability to lead teams and work successfully in partnership with staff, governors, parents and other agencies.

We aim to support vulnerable children ad young people to ensure they are as safe as they can possibly be.
