Headteacher

Location: South Wigston, South Leicestershire (with regular travel to other Leicestershire schools within the Trust)

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join a large and rapidly improving school situated in the district of South Wigston on the border with Leicester City. Our school prides itself on the partnerships we form with parents and the high expectations that we set for all our children.

Our staff team is made up of some highly experienced and well respected practitioners boasting 5 Specialist Leaders of Education; two of whom are part of National Mathematics Steering groups. The progress and attainment of our pupils is steadily improving, showing attainment at KS 1 as good and our KS 2 results are improving year on year. Parkland was judged as 'Good' by Ofsted in summer 2014

We seek an inspiring Headteacher that has the vision, the drive and resilience to build on our successes to date and lead us towards providing an outstanding provision that our children deserve. The successful candidate will be supported by a professional and supportive Governing Body, the Discovery Schools Academies Trust CEO and an incredibly committed staff team. The successful candidate will need to be outward facing and have the ability to share and learn from best practice. They will need strong communication skills, the ability to listen to stakeholders and respond to their needs whilst maintaining the vision and direction of the school.
