Job overview

The Weald CE Primary is a school of 375 children; taking one form of entry at YR and a second form of entry at Y3, set within 17 acres of beautiful grounds and woodland near Dorking.

The school has recently faced significant challenges, yet has clear potential to become ‘outstanding’ in time.

In September, The Weald will become the seventh Academy joining The Good Shepherd Trust within the Guildford Diocese, representing a new and exciting phase in its development. Solid finances, a flexible site with school build/refurbishment opportunities, combined with the outstanding pastoral and professional support coming from the diocese – this all represents a genuine platform from which to drive rapid and sustainable progress.

As a school we offer:

  • Strong guidance and support from the Academy Trustees, Governing body and fellow Heads within the Trust.
  • Enthusiastic and happy children who are proud of their school and love learning.
  • Supportive parents who are committed to seeing the school’s reputation restored.
  • An inclusive staff team with an excellent reputation in effectively narrowing the attainment gap.

In return the successful applicant will offer:

  • The ability to inspire staff, pupils, parents and governors in the school’s drive to raising standards
  • Previous experience as a Headteacher or a Deputy Headteacher
  • The ability to promote the Christian vision, ethos and values of the school

If you are ambitious, hard working and enthusiastic then both our children and the Trust will provide you with the rewards you are looking for.

Closing date: Monday 1 June at Midnight
