Job overview

Our vision at Manorfield is to ensure that all pupils acquire the skills, attributes and aspirations to enable them to be successful on their learning journey.

Manorfield Primary School is an expanding 3 form entry primary school in the heart of the East End of London. Our children come from a richly diverse community. Manorfield's ethos enables pupils to become creative and thoughtful individuals that make rapid progress across the curriculum, providing a secure foundation for secondary education and life beyond.

The school is rated outstanding by Ofsted, having moved from special measures in 2012 to outstanding in 2013, one of only a small number of schools nationally to have ever done so. They found highly effective teaching, and that teachers were innovative and knowledgeable. Pupils feel safe, their behaviour is exemplary and they are positive and focused in their learning.

Our staff are a professional and cohesive team with high expectations for the pupils. Our parents are committed to helping their sons and daughters succeed in school.

After leading Manorfield out of special measures and building a strong foundation for the future, our current head teacher is moving on to a new challenge closer to home. We are now looking for an outstanding and experienced leader to build on the foundations already laid and, with our strong senior and middle leadership team, take the school forwards into the future.

The successful candidate will be an inspirational leader who is able to think strategically and engage effectively with all key stakeholders. They will develop a shared vision of excellence and be able to motivate and challenge. Demonstrable experience of raising attainment is essential, as is the ability to create lifelong enthusiastic learners.

We welcome applications from all sections of the community regardless of gender, race, religion, disability, sexual orientation or age.

Applicants are very welcome to arrange an informal visit to the school. Please contact Janice Fortune on 0207 987 1623 should you wish to arrange a visit.

If you have any questions or would like to have an informal chat about the role, please call Andrew Best (our adviser) on 07917 080201.

Applications close at noon on Friday 20th March 2015.
Interviews will take place on Wednesday and Thursday 15th and 16th April 2015.
