Following the retirement of our successful and popular headteacher, governors are seeking an experienced and creative headteacher who will respect and value the ethos of our school. You will build on our existing reputation and continue to enhance our provision. Penwortham is on a journey to become an outstanding primary school and strives for all its children to achieve their best. Most importantly we aim to develop the whole child in terms of their personal, social and emotional development. We celebrate diversity and are a fully inclusive school that responds to the needs of the community through an enriched and creative curriculum.

We are in the process of an extensive and exciting expansion programme to become a permanent three form entry primary school, with new suites of rooms for children in the early years foundation stage.

Our children and school community are looking for someone who will be:

  • An experienced, creative headteacher who puts children and community at the centre of their vision;
  • Passionate about primary education and has high expectations of children's achievements and behaviour;
  • A team player who is equally happy on the nursery carpet and in a year six classroom;
  • Able to lead and create a climate for excellence in teaching with high expectations for all pupils and staff;
  • Able to develop the leadership skills of others and create strong and effective teams of staff and governors;
  • Committed to working with parents and carers to achieve the best for all pupils.
