This is an exciting and rewarding position with a very attractive remuneration package (including accommodation, if needed, on our beautiful site).

  • promote and inspire excellence in all aspects of the school's life, but especially in teaching;
  • have excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills;
  • bring fun, creativity and an all-embracing and inclusive approach to all we do;
  • understand the Christian foundation of the School;
  • have experience of successful marketing in a similar school and be forward-thinking in developing new marketing strategies; and
  • relish the challenge of improving and growing an already high-achieving school.

Pennthorpe is a co-educational independent preparatory day school located in the village of Rudgwick, along the Surrey/Sussex border, for children ages 2 to 13 years. Pennthorpe sits within a beautiful 25-acre site with extensive facilities and 16 acres of luscious woodland.

Pennthorpe is renowned for an innovative curriculum, exceptional pastoral care, immaculate, child-friendly campus and exceptional record for Scholarships and Common Entrance results. “Non nobis solum nati” is Pennthorpe’s official motto: “Born not for ourselves alone”. The ‘Pennthorpe Purpose’ relays the importance of positive contribution to the lives, and for the benefit, of others - not just to serve our own intentions. The children enjoy the most compelling educational experience possible; to nurture their positivity, tolerance, resilience and collaboration; and to prepare them to pursue their individual aspirations and contribute to the world.

Whether it’s academic achievement, consideration and kindness towards others, or an energetic and positive attitude – excellence underpins all that we do at Pennthorpe, and all that we strive to be together. Pennthorpe has been successfully preparing children for a variety of public senior schools since 1930.
