Due to the pending retirement of our Headteacher we are looking for an inspirational and passionate leader. This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic and experienced school leader to take on the rewarding role of Head Teacher at Newtown Community Primary School.

The Governors and staff are looking for a Headteacher who is able to provide a challenging, nurturing and inspirational environment and:

  • be passionate about raising standards and committed to the development of every child;
  • have proven leadership and management skills;
  • demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning;
  • be approachable, receptive and able to challenge, motivate and inspire others;
  • have high expectations of achievement and behaviour.

About Newtown Community Primary School

We are a successful town school in Trowbridge.  The school itself is a large beautiful Victorian building with the added feature of an outdoor swimming pool.  The school serves a diverse community with a wide mix of cultural and social attitudes.  Our hard working and dedicated team of governors, staff and parents’ association, all strive for the same aim which is to nurture our children to do the very best that they can both academically and socially and we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.  Based on a calm, inclusive and positive ethos, our school encourages care and respect for all and promotes having fun whilst learning.   As a consequence our children love coming to school.
