Job overview

Are you an exceptional and visionary Headteacher? Or are you an outstanding and ambitious Deputy Headteacher looking for an exciting challenge? The Governors of Garfield Primary School in Wimbledon wish to appoint a new Headteacher.

This is a leadership role for an excellent candidate with a first-class track record in raising standards. The successful candidate will develop and implement a vision to lead a school rated ‘Good’ to ‘Outstanding’ – a tough but achievable objective. The school is in a strong financial position and has an energetic staff and dedicated governing body, giving the new Headteacher every opportunity to succeed.

Garfield is a good school with 470 children on roll and shows solid academic achievement. Children throughout the school are well-mannered and demonstrate high standards of behaviour and an eagerness to learn. Children leave Garfield to attend a mixture of local state, selective and fee-paying schools.

Garfield offers the new Headteacher an excellent career opportunity for a dynamic leader to achieve genuine, measurable success in a vibrant community school.

In return, the new Headteacher must deliver outstanding leadership at Garfield to inspire colleagues and pupils alike to achieve the highest standards.

The school has good transport links and is in one of the best locations in London.
