Our Vision

St Peter’s is an active Catholic Community, inspired by the life of Jesus. It is a centre of excellence, where children learn and grow in a happy, secure and nurturing environment.

The Governors of St Peter’s Catholic School are seeking to appoint an outstanding Headteacher. As a highly effective school of 394 pupils, we recognise the challenges success brings and wish to sustain the performance of the school, nurture and grow the spiritual and academic achievement and strengthen the school community.

St Peter’s School is set in wonderful grounds and has recently been validated as outstanding by Portsmouth Diocese, our mission to ‘aspire not to have more but to be more’ underpins all aspects of life at the school, from spiritual liturgies to fantastic musicals. Participation in a wide range of sports is encouraged for all, as is producing amazing and reflective art. We are proud to celebrate other cultures and help develop our young interpreters. The successful candidate will:

• Be a practising committed Catholic, having a depth of faith and a clear understanding of the requirements of Catholic Education
• Have high expectations for the quality of teaching and achievement for every child in all our diverse groups
• Demonstrate outstanding teaching and bring a vision of learning through spiritual leadership
• Be a caring and collaborative communicator who understands the importance of our wider community.
