Our Vision

The Governors of St Peter’s Catholic School are seeking to appoint a new Headteacher. As a highly effective school of 400 pupils, we believe that our School offers a great opportunity to challenge an existing Head or nurture the ambitions of an aspiring Headteacher.

St Peter’s School has recently been validated as outstanding by Portsmouth Diocese, our mission to ‘aspire not to have more but to be more’ underpins all aspects of life at the school and is evident in the quality of staff and pupil relationships throughout. We recognise the challenges success brings and wish to sustain the performance of the school, build on the spiritual and academic achievement and strengthen the school community.

The successful candidate will:

• Be a practising committed Catholic, having a depth of faith and a clear understanding of the requirements of Catholic Education
• Have high expectations for the quality of teaching and achievement for every child in all our diverse groups
• Be able to demonstrate outstanding teaching and bring a clear vision of learning through spiritual leadership
• Be a caring and collaborative communicator who understands the importance of our wider community.
