The Governing Body wish to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated, caring and inspirational leader who has proven leadership experience through the primary phase.

The Governing Body of Somerville Primary School, along with the Governing Body of Brentwood Early Years Centre, has recently agreed to begin consultation on the possibility of a federation between the two schools, under a single Governing Body and Headteacher. This consultation is expected to begin in Autumn 2015, with an outcome by Spring 2016.

With this in mind we are looking for a school leader who:

  • Has a clear strategic vision coupled with an enthusiastic approach to teaching and learning
  • Has the experience to lead, motivate, inspire and support all staff, children and parents within our school community
  • Is passionate about high quality teaching and learning experiences for children
  • Is able to demonstrate leading change and school development
  • Is committed to embracing our ethos of, “Pupils First: Striving for Personal Success.”
  • Has a clear understanding of financial management
  • Has a proven track record in raising standards and improving outcomes in schools with a significant number of Pupil Premium children
