This is an exciting opportunity for a committed and hardworking individual to work as an HLTA with a specific focus on Numeracy here at Longdendale High School.  We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic candidate who has the ability and desire to develop new skills, knowledge and experience in both aspects of the role. 

Your key responsibilities will be to plan and deliver Numeracy interventions with students individually or in small groups, on your own or alongside teachers in classrooms to help meet specific learning needs.

Your key responsibilities will include working with the Head of Maths to plan, lead and support the delivery of numeracy interventions and to provide feedback to students, parents and colleagues in relation to progress and achievement. The successful candidate will undertake regular teaching of individual students and small groups, planning, assessing and recording their learning, progress and achievements. You will work with students individually or in small groups, on your own or alongside teachers in classrooms, to help meet specific learning needs and to support all students to develop their numeracy skills and literacy access the whole school curriculum. This will require you to liaise with individual teaching staff and curriculum leaders to ensure targeted intervention is personalised for students. As a HLTA you will support parents in students’ learning and contribute to/lead meetings with parents to provide constructive feedback on student progress/achievement etc. You will deliver learning activities to students, adjusting activities according to student needs and take the initiative as appropriate to develop appropriate multi-agency approaches to supporting students.
