Our vision is to offer a truly unique and distinctive education and provide a new model of teaching underpinned by digital skills and learning. Located in the heart of Birmingham’s growing technology and digital hub, close to industrial and academic partners, and with first-class facilities, BOA Digital is looking to meet the UK’s growing need for a high-class digital workforce.

We are seeking to appoint an HLTA with responsibility for the development and education process, by using their best endeavours and specialist knowledge to provide care and supervision to young people, including those who fall within the four broad areas of need as described in the SEN Code of Practice September 2014.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Understands of challenges facing young people which may prevent them from learning.
  • Understands the types of SEN encountered in school and methods of providing support.
  • Understands of relevant codes of practice and legislation

Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the direction and control of the SENCO

  •  Supervise and support the teaching activities and undertake appropriate planning and preparation of sessions and courses for individuals or groups of young people to ensure their safety and facilitate in their educational and personal development.
  •   Use appropriate skills to undertake those activities necessary to meet the four broad areas of need for individuals and groups of young people.
  •   Monitor individual pupil's progress, achievements, problems, condition, and development needs reporting to the responsible teacher and/or parent as appropriate.
  •  Use appropriate skills when actively engaged in educational activities and work programmes to support the progress of pupils in the four broad areas of need.

This is an excellent opportunity to make a difference to the future of education within a world class academy. If you share the academy’s vision and ambitions, possess a strong desire to work within an ethos of creative collaboration and partnership and want to have a positive impact on young people, families, and the community then we would be delighted to hear from you.

If you are interested in the role, please contact recruitment@boa-digital.co.uk and arrange a visit and discussion with our SENCO.
