Job overview

We are seeking an organised, intelligent and pragmatic HR Officer to join our team. This is a new position in the College’s staff structure so the successful candidate will play a part in shaping the role.  The HR Officer will lead on effective human resource management at the College.

Candidates will be experienced in working in Human Resources, preferably in a school or education setting. They will be capable, articulate and dedicated to bringing positive outcomes for young people in our school community.  This is a busy and varied role and the successful candidate will be expected to work alongside senior leaders to ensure the management of the College is highly effective.

 The successful applicant will:

·        have be suitably qualified and experienced in Human Resources;

·        have experience of working in the education sector;

·        have a strong understanding of employment law, particularly that pertaining to education;

·        have experience of using IT systems to good effect;

·        have proven organisational skills and the ability to motivate and inspire others;

·        have an up to date knowledge of safeguarding, KCSiE and child protection policies applicable to HR functions within educational setting;

·        be a committed, highly-competent, reflective and resilient individual;

·        be discreet, confidential and understand the need for sensitivity;

·        have a sense of humour and good interpersonal and communication skills.

The Spires College is a co-educational bilateral, 11-18 School with a selective stream.  We are a friendly, caring school which puts the needs of our children at the heart of all we do.
