Job Description


You will assist us in fulfilling the school’s mission statement by contributing to the delivery of a high-quality Language & Literature provision.

As a genuine team player, you will collaborate with students, staff, and parents to ensure excellent outcomes for our students by implementing innovative teaching and learning strategies to improve student experiences and results. ENGAGEMENT AND INTERACTION – SCHOOL AMBASSADOR TO INTERNAL COMMUNITY

  • Vertically align curriculum planning to support student growth and skill/knowledge development over time.
  • Empower students to take an active role in their learning journey and contribute to shaping it.
  • Ambitiously and deliberately plan lessons to accommodate diverse learning needs while fostering peer collaboration and reflection.
  • Effectively use formative and summative assessment methods to inform teaching and learning practices.
  • Implement tracking and monitoring systems to effectively support and challenge learners in making targeted progress relevant to their abilities.


Required Skills/Abilities

PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

  • Fully engage in the school’s performance management procedures and appraisal by setting effective targets and reflecting using specified school systems.
  • Commit to pursuing personal development opportunities to evolve your pedagogical approach to teaching and learning.
  • Collaborate professionally using Nord Anglia University to enhance teaching practice and deepen understanding of educational developments.
  • Embrace an open-door approach to learning from others through learning walks, peer observations, and teaching triads to share best practices.
  • Commit to personal growth reflection to maintain a healthy work-life balance enabling peak performance.


PERSONAL SPECIFICATIONS

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status with a minimum of two years teaching experience.
  • Possess a University Degree or higher in Psychology.
  • Have experience teaching Key Stage 4/5 (14–18yr), specifically in IBDP Psychology syllabus and IGCSE Humanities.
  • Demonstrate experience in delivering extracurricular activities and participating in externally run events to enrich student opportunities.
  • Preferably completed IB Cat1/2 training for DP Psychology (not essential).
  • Preferably have experience teaching other humanities subjects such as IBDP History/Global Politics/Geography/Economics/Business Management (not essential).
  • Maintain a strong record of ongoing professional development to embody commitment to lifelong learning.
  • Exhibit high-quality pastoral care experience supporting the growth and development of young people.
  • Actively collaborate with colleagues across subject boundaries to develop transferable skills in students.
  • Demonstrate innovation and adaptability in curriculum design to engage students.
  • Possess strong proficiency in using technology to enhance teaching and learning for engaging learners and achieving quality experiences.
  • Showcase exceptional cross-cultural, interpersonal, and communication skills to interact with diverse communities and stakeholders.
  • Excel in analytical skills with a drive to demonstrate and quantify success.
  • Maintain a strong track record of being results-oriented, consistently mapping efforts against identified KPIs to demonstrate impact as a quality educator.
  • Exhibit excellent time management skills and flexibility in handling multifunctional tasks.

About Prague British International School, Kamýk

Prague British International School is a new school formed by the merger of the English International School Prague and the Prague British School. EISP and PBS have a long history in the city, founded in 1992 and 1995 respectively, both schools provide education for Prague's local and international community, educating children aged 2-18 years using the English National Curriculum, IB Diploma Programme and IB Careers Programme.

Located on three campuses, Vlastina (Prague 6) for EYFS to Year 9, Kamyk (Prague 4) for EYFS to Year 9 and Libus (Prague 4) for Year 10 to Year 13. Each location is a purpose-built site on the outskirts of the city centre. Each site has modern classrooms, great IT facilities, sports hall and expansive sports fields.
