The role will include the leadership of the Inclusion Team – including the Pastoral Manager and specialist learning support staff.

We are looking to appoint an experienced Inclusion Leader to raise the achievement of children with SEND, those eligible for the Pupil Premium, and those with EAL.

This is a non-class based role.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has an adventurous spirit and a great sense of humour
  • Shares our absolute belief that all children are entitled to an exciting and challenging learning experience… and ‘Can do’ great things with the right support and provision
  • Is an outstanding and inspiring teacher, that children love to spend time with
  • Is an excellent communicator and team member with the ability to work closely with pupils, parents, staff and outside agencies
  • Is passionate about SEND
  • Has the ability to develop children’s well-being and self-esteem
  • Has achieved National SEN accreditation or looking to attain this in the future

We can offer you:

  • A bright future! Our aspiration is to become a teaching school and in order to work towards this we are committed to ensuring our own teachers engage in exciting opportunities for bespoke professional development. For us to share great practice with others we want to ensure we have offered our own staff the very best
  • An exciting, challenging and rewarding opportunity to share in the leadership of our school, driving standards forward with an emphasis on embedding true inclusive practice
  • Fabulous pupils to work with – who we believe CAN achieve great things
  • An exciting place to work – with fabulous buildings and great plans!

Do you share our vision for inclusive education? Can you make a real difference?

The New North Academy was formed from the merger of two schools in 2004. We moved into our new building, which enjoys state of the art facilities, in Easter 2007.

We are a two-form entry primary school. We are close to Upper Street in Islington and have great transport links including: Angel Tube Station (Northern Line), Highbury & Islington Tube and Overground (Victoria Line) and Essex Road (Overground), we are also close to many bus routes. Our community is very diverse and we serve an area of significant deprivation.

Our new headteacher was appointed in February 2015 to lead our school forward, achieve our aspirations and ensure that our pupils receive an enriched, exciting and memorable education. This makes it a really exciting time to be part of our school’s development and allows potential candidates to share with us their own areas of particular strength and interest.

An application form and details of this post are available on our website or by contacting the school by phone or email.

A conversation with the headteacher prior to application can be easily arranged if you would like to find out more about the role or to learn more about our school. I would also be delighted to show candidates around.

Please contact Mrs Nimira Lalji to arrange, or email Recruitment@newnorthacademy.com to request a conversation or meeting.

Closing Date: 12 noon - Monday 20th April
Interview Dates: Week commencing Monday 27th April (TBC)

Ofsted judged us to be good, our results are above average and we aim to achieve outstanding status. We strive to ensure we provide the very best education for all our children.

We expect all staff to share the school’s commitment to the protection and safety of children and young people. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
