The role

We are seeking an excellent primary teacher, with recent and very successful Key Stage 1 experience, to manage our Key Stage 1 team on our journey to outstanding. Working in close partnership with an Assistant Head Teacher, you will implement strategies to ensure outstanding teaching and learning is a feature throughout the phase. In addition to having excellent teaching skills, you will need to have the vision, drive and strong interpersonal skills to bring the best out of our committed and skilled staff team. As a senior leader, you will have the opportunity to help shape the school’s development. In return you will receive significant leadership time to effectively carry out the role and on-going professional development that ensure that this role is a stepping stone to senior school leadership positions.

The school

Firs Primary School is a larger than average school with 467 pupils currently on roll aged 3 to 11 years. We are situated on the Firs Estate between Castle Bromwich and Hodge Hill. We have our own 52 place nursery on site. From Reception, there are two classes in each year. Children come from a wide range of backgrounds, religions and cultures and previous educational experience. The majority of our families live very locally on the Firs and Bromford Estates.
