UCS Pre-Prep joined the UCS Foundation of Schools in 2002.  UCS Pre-Prep fully supports the aims and ethos of the whole UCS Foundation; intellectual curiosity and independence of mind are developed, self-discovery and self-expression are fostered, and learning co-operatively and collaboratively is highly valued.

Learning for our 100 pupils aged 4-7 takes place through a range of carefully planned activities including formal teaching, and structured indoor and outdoor play. Pupils are encouraged to think creatively, explore their environment and problem solve. We believe this enables them to construct their own understanding of the world around them.

We have an average class size of 14 – 18 pupils, and all teachers are supported by teaching assistants as well as specialist teachers in Music, Art, DT, and PE. We cover the Early Years Foundation Stage and the Key Stage One Programme of Study, thus providing a broad and balanced curriculum through creative, innovative and exciting teaching.

There are designated Early Years Foundation Stage and Key Stage One areas, with light, well-equipped classrooms, a spacious gym, an Art room and library area. Our pupils also use the facilities at the Senior School and Junior Branch on a regular basis.
