This is a truly exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and ambitious English teaching specialist to work as part of the English faculty team at The Mirfield Free Grammar & Sixth Form. You will be instrumental in inspiring and motivating our students. Embracing both the outstanding culture and ethos of The Mirfield Free Grammar Academy, you will play a key role in helping to drive the Academy forward; raising standards and creating outstanding life chances for students.
As Key Stage 5 co-ordinator your primary focus will be to support the Head of the English Faculty in raising achievement at KS5. You will set up and run the new KS5 curriculum in English and also run the existing provision. You will be responsible for achievement, intervention, QA, Teaching and Learning, staff development of teaching A Level, handbooks, tracking data, tracking and monitoring students at KS5. The successful candidate must be prepared to be a full time member of the Teaching and Learning community and must be proactive in terms of continuous reading and research around National progress and developments within Teaching and Learning.
We are looking to recruit an outstanding Teacher of English. We are looking for a KS5 co-ordinator who wants to inspire, who is passionate about developing students; someone who is excited by learning and has a desire to develop a career within a high performing and successful MAT. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and driven by the desire to deliver outstanding Teaching and Learning.

Local Information
Mirfield is a small West Yorkshire town and lies on the A644 between Dewsbury & Huddersfield. Surrounded by rolling hills and fields there are many lovely views in Mirfield, one of the nicest being from the staff room window! Mirfield has a wealth of historical figures associated with it such as Robin Hood, the Luddites and the Bronte’s. More recently, it has produced such fine actors as Patrick Stewart who is also a patron of the school. Situated very close to the M62, M1 and the A1, Mirfield is within very easy access of most of the North particularly Manchester, Liverpool, York, Sheffield and Hull. There is a lot of beautiful countryside to explore and for those who prefer the city life, Mirfield is easily commutable from the vibrant and exciting Leeds city centre.
