The British School, Warsaw is an all-age (2 ½ to 18 years), independent, inclusive day school serving the needs of the expatriate and local communities of Warsaw. It was established in 1992 and has grown significantly since then. The current school roll is over 900 of which over 600 pupils are in the Primary section. The school currently has 95 teaching staff and 64 associate staff. The school operates an extensive coaching and induction programme for staff.

We offer a broad range of over 30 different Extra Curricular activities as part of LEAP (Learning and Enrichment Activities Programme) including sporting activities; martial arts; music, art and drama groups; debating and Model United Nations; as well as craft activities. All staff are required to contribute to this programme.

Our school follows the English National Curriculum with an international dimension. Starting from 2½ years old, we offer a first rate educational experience, leading to external examinations at IGCSE level with the University of Cambridge and AQA Examination groups as well as the International Baccalaureate Diploma programme for entry to Higher Education in the UK, USA and over 40 other countries worldwide. We are an Associate of COBIS - the Council of British International Schools and we are the Warsaw designated centre for the Associated Boards of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM).

The Role: Teacher of Key Stage Two

To deliver our high standard of educational excellence, our teachers are experienced, confident, well organised, have a good sense of humour and participate fully in all aspects of school life within and beyond the classroom.  We are now looking for a like-minded Key Stage Two Teacher to join our team.

As a qualified teaching professional you will be a fluent English speaker and have experience of delivering the UK curriculum, be committed to developing individualised approaches to learning and experienced in the latest assessment methods.

In addition you will;

  • Promote the philosophy of the school ensuring that children are working towards being International Citizens;
  • Ensure that planning, preparation, recording, assessment and reporting meet the varying learning and social needs of students and to be flexible and adjust to the needs of the school, actively contributing to its development and growth;
  • Demonstrate thorough curriculum knowledge, teach and assess effectively, take responsibility for professional development and have pupils who achieve well through the High Performance Learning agenda;
  • Identify clear teaching objectives, content, structures and sequences of lessons appropriate to the educational needs of the pupils in your class;
  • Set appropriate, realistic yet demanding expectations for pupils’ learning, building on prior attainment/knowledge;
  • Know how to prepare and present informative reports to parents ina professional manner based upon monitoring procedures adhered to within the school;
  • Facilitate parental engagement by ensuring Home Learning tasks are presented comprehensibly and detail how parents can assist their children;
  • Understand the need to take responsibility for their own professional development and to keep up to date with research and developments in pedagogy as relevant to their own department and mainstream departments

Selection Process

About The British School Warsaw

Our School

The British School Warsaw is a vibrant school with a truly international pupil body consisting of roughly equal numbers of local and expatriate children. Located on two campuses in the city the school has a capacity of 1300 pupils and is currently educating 1100 pupils aged 2 ½ to 19. The primary school is split across two sites with Pre-Nursery to Year 1 (ages 2 ½ - 6) on our smaller Dabrowskiego site (180 pupils) whilst Years 2-6 attend our larger Limanowskiego site along with senior pupils. The Primary school follow the IPC from Year 1-6. The Secondary school, Years 7-11, follow the Key Stage 3 English National Curriculum followed by IGCSEs in Years 10-11. The “IB College” is a Post 16 education provision centered around the IB Diploma programme studied either as a two year course or for a small group of pupils as a three year course with a ‘Pre-IB’ year included as a preparatory year.
