Hours: 27 hours 30 minutes – term time only (39 weeks to include INSET days) – 8.45am – 3.30pm with a daily 10 minute break and lunch break

Required from 1 September 2015 to 31 August 2016

We are looking to appoint special educational needs teaching assistants to work 1:1 with a KS1 and KS2 children in our ASD Resource.The role involves supporting the pupil’s complex learning and development needs, which are directly related to Autistic Spectrum/Social Communication Disorder.

You will work closely with the Teacher in Charge/ Manager and the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator as required. Whilst you will be expected to work under the direction of the class teacher you will also have the ability to use your own initiative to organise tasks and activities; creating simple resources to support the pupil’s work as appropriate. You will be expected to provide feedback to the Teacher in Charge/Manager on the pupil’s progress and attend team meetings as necessary.

We are looking for a person who:

  • is cheerful, positive and enthusiastic about working with children
  • is experienced in supporting pupils with learning difficulties
  • is an effective communicator with pupils and staff
  • is able to build and maintain effective relationships
  • is committed to working as part of a team
  • possesses good Literacy and Numeracy skills
