St Mary's Church of England Primary School is a Voluntary Aided school, associated with Kidderminster's ancient Parish Church of St Mary's and All Saints. The foundation dates back to 1703 and earlier schools were located close to the Parish Church. Close links are maintained with the Church. The present premises were built in 1970 on a pleasant site away from main traffic flows between Lyndhurst Drive and Stoney Lane, access being available from both roads. Extensive buildings works have been in progress since September 2007.

The school is housed in a modern, light and spacious single-storey complex comprising hall/gym with adjacent kitchen/servery area, classrooms with associated wash/toilet facilities, library, staffroom, offices, cloakrooms etc. A successful Nurture Provision and Thrive Provision has a major impact on the emotional well-being of our children. The teaching areas surround an attractive garden quadrangle. The school has its own extensive grounds with playing field, paved patio, hard-surface playground and Forest School, conservation/nature and allotment areas. An onsite lunchtime meal service is provided. The catchment area of the school is of a wide social spread. The school’s geodemographic score is 97/100. Many of the children who will attend St Mary's C of E (Voluntary Aided) Primary School live very locally in an area known as the Horsefair. This contains high rise accommodation and older type council property however, redevelopment of the area has already begun and will continue to be an area of regeneration. St Mary’s has a highly inclusive ethos and attendance takes high priority.

The curriculum is ambitious and meets the children’s learning and emotional needs. St Mary’s is the focus for quality provision for children and their families in the community. It has a very high, good quality profile within the community and with support services including Health, Family support Services and community groups. School’s personalised approach to nurturing for children and their families is helping to drive up standards and raise pupil’s expectations and the expectations of their families of what they can achieve. The school has a capacity pupil figure of 210, with a standard admission number of 30. A Children’s Kidderminster Early Years Language Class opened in 2022, which is a provision to support pupils with speech and language needs.
