Atlas Academy has an exciting opportunity for a KS2 Teacher and English Subject Leader to join their team! 


As KS2 Teacher and English Subject Leader you will:

  • Maintain a high standard of quality care and education through an excellent balanced, varied, and exciting curriculum.
  • Be an active and effective part of the team, who promotes the welfare and development of our pupils.
  • Secure, in collaboration with colleagues at all levels, high quality teaching and learning in English throughout the school.
  • Lead, manage and develop the English curriculum throughout the school.
  • Collaborate with the Early Reading Leader to ensure that lesson delivery remains at a high standard.

 

We are looking for:

  • A qualified teacher with recent and successful teaching experience across the primary phase, preferably in Key Stage 2.
  • Evidence of successful leadership of a curriculum subject (ideally English) within a primary school.
  • Commitment to continued professional development.
  • An understanding of the importance of the processes of planning, monitoring and evaluation as an aid to raising standards.

Atlas Academy is located in central Doncaster in South Yorkshire.


We currently have about 420 pupils on roll and fifteen classes throughout the school: Morning and Afternoon Nursery and 2 classes in each year group from Reception to Year 6.


The school is on an exciting improvement journey with its leaders committed to a clear plan for future success. We use strong initiatives such as a tightly coherent phonics scheme, a knowledge rich curriculum and incremental coaching to support improving pedagogy.


A committed staff team are working hard to ensure good practice is embedded into Atlas. We have high expectations of each other and our pupils: we want the pupils of Atlas Academy to be confident, capable, resilient and independent learners. We expect our children to foster a love of learning and want them to be aspirational and motivated across all areas of the school’s curriculum.
